I like this blog because she is writing just to write, there’s no overly stimulating twitter/social media campaign to really promote it or anything. I am friends with the author and she prints her poems up and hangs them up where we live in georgia

What is alt lit (guest contributor carter sutherland)
I think alt lit is a lot like the internet as a whole. It has pieces of everything and is everywhere even if its not like defined. I dont think anyone really understands how the internet works either, even the people who invented it. Actually they probably understand it but anyway I feel like the internet is to people now as fire was to cavemen. Like everyone has it, and you know what it is, but you dont REALLY know what it is. but you know its there, and that s kind of like alt lit, i think. I think alt lit has existed forever but people are just now calling it that on the internet. this is a picture of a belt buckle i saw in a thrift store. It has the state of ohio on it and i dont know what it means but I can understand that its a belt buckle and that its the state of ohio

i created a FB post & asked if any1 wanted to ‘guest contribute’ to I AM NOT ALT LIT for 1 wk. the first person to ‘hmu’ was some1 named ‘carter sutherland.’ i have no idea who carter sutherland ‘is.’ i have never ‘interacted’ w/ him. he emailed me & i took the above photo from his ‘google plus’ acct. more ppl will be ‘guest contributing.’ hmu if are interested ‘also.’ — josh
